The Northwest Academies provide education and therapeutic services to students with special education needs at its two campuses, as well as at its sister school, Rock River Academy. The co-educational facilities serve students with a wide range of behavioral and emotional problems who range in age from five to 21. The Academies offer a 12-month comprehensive program that includes a rigorous academic program combined with a strong focus on the social and emotional growth of the students.

Services/Programs

• A full school experience, including education, social activities, sports and guidance
• Curriculum for grades kindergarten through 12th grade, as set forth by the Illinois State Board of Education
• Student services provided by special education teachers, psychologists, counselors, social workers and certified para-professionals
• Medical services provided by a registered nurse as needed
• Consultations between students, families and medical providers

• In addition to providing high-quality behavioral health services to the general public which span a continuum of care from outpatient to acute and residential care, many PSI facilities offer Specialty Programs that provide solution-focused services to individuals and groups who present with unique circumstances or treatment needs which cannot otherwise be successfully addressed in community health settings.
